MAC Haul

Hi everyone!

On Saturday I ordered some things from MAC and they were delivered today! Yay! They are all things I've been wanting to try so without further ado, here are the bits and bobs I bought!

Eye Kohl in 'Teddy'

Pixi2woo recommended this as her favourite ever eyeliner in a recent Youtube video. This already hooked me because I love Tanya and her videos, but the appeal of a soft, smudgy brown liner really appealed to me. I always use black but it can look harsh against my skin. I can't wait to try this out!

Plushglass in 'Fulfilled'

This look great on the website and it looks really pigmented in the tube, but it goes on clear. I tried a few coats purely to see if I could build the colour up but it stayed clear which I'm so disappointed about. Hopefully it will at least look nice over lipsticks!

Lipstick in 'Patisserie'

I love this! This is definitely 'my lips but better.' It's a lustre and applies so smoothly and gives such a nice sheen, I think Lustres are my favourite formula! I can tell I'll be using this so much, love it!

So there's what I got!

What are your favourite things from MAC?

May Favourites

Hi everyone!

Long time no blog! Sorry about that, I just haven't been inspired lately for some reason. However, as it's the end of May (I can't believe it!) I thought it would be nice to show you what I've been loving in the month of May!

Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Shampoo

I bought a travel size of this shampoo when I went to visit my friend and absolutely loved the scent and how shiny and smooth it made my hair, so I bought a nice big bottle! This makes my hair smell gorgeous!

Lancome Hypnose Perfume

I remember when this perfume first came out, I was about 13/14 and I would always go into Boots to get samples from the Lancome lady because I loved this perfume! It's stayed a constant favourite and I've used it a lot this month!

Body Shop Vitamin E Night Cream

This is a travel ste size but I bought the set quite a few months ago and I still have loads left! This is a nice thick cream and it reallys helps my dry skin hydrate itself overnight.

Urban Decay Naked Palette

This is possibly my favourite make up purchase ever! I love each and every one of the eyeshadows, the Primer Potion is brilliant and it's all I've been using on my eyes this month! Amazing!

Max Factor Xperience Foundation

I've been through about 4 bottles of this, I just love it! Great coverage, matches my skin perfectly and doesn't feel at all cakey on my skin.

Elf Powder Brush

My lovely best friend Hayley texted me when she bought this saying I needed to pick it up and she was so right! This is amazing to apply foundation with, it gives such a flawless look. The brush is so soft and supple too.

Primark Kabuki Brush

I've been using this with my bronzer and MSF and it applies just the right amount of product. It's a great little brush and I'm sure it was only like a pound!

Bourjois Effet 3D Lipgloss in Rouge Democratic

This is really pigmented and looks great on its own or paired with a pink lipstick. Just been using it loads, love it!

Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipgloss in Ivory Beige

I wouldn't say this is Ivory or Beige! It's a gorgeous shimmery peach colour that looks amazing with golden eyeshadow and bronzer! It smells nice too!

MAC Cork Eyeshadow

I've been using this every day as my brow colour, it matches perfectly and makes my brows look more defined and uniform. It's a great as a contour eyeshadow colour too!

So there are my May Favourites!
What have you been loving in May?

Summer Lips: Lipstick Recommendations

Hi everyone!

With summer fast approaching, it's time to break out the bright colours! I thought I'd do a post showing you all the lipsticks I'll be wearing in summer, they're all really affordable (except one which is MAC...) and gorgeous colours for the summer.

I took these in my wardrobe as it's so sunny outside that my dressing table was a terrible shooting spot!

Without flash:

Left to right:

Rimmel Moisture Renew 620 Coral Queen, MAC Lustering, MUA Shade 6, Maybelline Colour Sensational 148 Summer Pink

With Flash:

Same order as above.

Flash just shows the true colours a little better for you!

These are all gorgeous pinks except the Rimmel Coral Queen lipstick, which is a really punchy coral. I was wary of it at first but I've actually had loads of compliments about it when I've worn it so I urge you, if you're used to your baby and neutral pinks, be brave this summer!

Lustering is well used, as you can see! It's a gorgeous, stand out pink that I love to wear on a night out. It's a lustre finish and it looks glossy on the lips.

MUA Shade 6 was only a pound! Bargain! It's so pigmented and glides on so smoothly, it's the best lipstick formula I've tried, and for a quid it's amazing!

Maybelline Summer Pink is a lovely hot pink with slight shimmer. It's a great colour, it just doesn't apply that well. Maybe I got a dud because my other Maybelline lipsticks apply fine. It's still a beautiful colour!

Swatches, which don't showthe true colours and do the lipsticks justice, but I threw it in anyway!

So there's my Summer Lipstick Recommendations!

What will you be wearing on your lips this summer?

Recent MAC Purchases

Hi everyone!

I hope you have all had a good Easter! I've had a couple of great nights out with my girls and been spoilt with loads of chocolate eggs, yum!

I popped into MAC last week because my friend was getting a makeover, so I nosied around the store until one of the lovely ladies asked me if I wanted any help.

Uh oh. Cue asking, on the spur of the moment, to be matched to Studio Sculpt Foundation. Just to try it out.

Yep, I bought it! I also got two eyeshadows, so here they are to show you.

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation: £23.00.
Eyeshadows in 'Woodwinked' and 'Retrospeck': £11.50 each.

I was colour matched to NW15, which came as a bit of a surprise as I was NC15 in Studio Fix Fluid (which I absolutely hate!). The lovely woman who matched me was asking about my skin, which is very dry, and she said as this is gel based it will work nicely on my skin.

I must say I absolutely love this. I was worried that I'd been silly and impulsive and parted with quite a bit of money for something I might not like, but thank goodness, I love it! It's got great coverage, suits my skin perfectly, and it smells nice!

I also got two eyeshadows that I've been lusting after for a while, 'Woodwinked' and 'Retrospeck'. It was funny because 'Woodwinked' immediatly jumped out at me from the display, and I spotted 'Retrospeck' too without having turned them over to check what they were.

These are gorgeous, shimmery and very pigmented. 'Woodwinked' is a very gold, bronzey colour and it looks gorgeous. 'Retrospeck' is a more muted, champagney gold and I've only used it as a highlight so far but I think it would stand great just on it's own!

Blurry swatches as usual! (Check out the cameo print duvet!)

So, that rounds it up! Have you been hauling lately?

My 11 Most Reached For Products

Hi everyone!

Sorry I've been AWOL for a bit, I haven't really had the motivation to blog as it's been spent on getting an essay for Uni done! But I did it and now I'm off for Easter so I'll be blogging a lot more!

Today I thought I'd do my 11 Most Reached For Products! Warning, blurry photos ahead! I'm going to see my Dad tomorrow so I promise to ask him to see if he can fix my camera!

Skin Therapy Fragrance Free Facial Wipes

I've tried plenty of different facial wipes in my time, but these are the best I've found and the best part is that I can get them in Wilkinsons, 3 for 99p (or at least time I checked!). It means I always have some on hand and it's easy to stock up!
As for the wipes themselves, they're gentle on the face yet manage to make my skin feel clean. Don't worry, I don't use these to wash my face, just to remove my make up before I have a proper scrub! I couldn't live without these!

Vivienne Westwood 'Naughty Alice' Perfume: £37.00

I got this perfume for Christmas and it has quickly become my go-to perfume! Most of my perfumes are best used on a night time as they have quite heavy fragrances but this is lovely for day time which is why I'm always squirting it on!

Nivea Soft Moisturising Cream: £4.28

As I have mentioned before I am a lover of Nivea products and this is my staple moisturiser. I have very dry skin and this leaves it feeling smooth and hydrated and also has a lovely scent! There are loads of great moisturisers out there but this has always and will always be my favourite.

Carmex Lip Balm: £2.65

Sorry this is blurry! I always like to put a layer of Carmex on my lips before applying any other product as it makes them hydrated and soft. I love the Cherry flavour but I've used it up so I'm sticking with the orginal at the minute! It's a great lip balm and a staple in my daily routine.

Benefit High Beam: £18.50

Along with Illamasqua's 'Lies', this is my favourite highlighter. I love the pearly sheen it gives to my skin, it makes me look glowing! It's very liquid based but it dries quickly so you don't feel like you have gloop on your face!

MAC Cream Colour Base in 'Shell': £13.50

I've actually hit the bottom on this as I use it so much! I love this product as it's so versatile. I use it as a highlighter on my cheeks, a base for my eyes and often just as an eyeshadow as it's a gorgeous shimmery golden colour and looks great!

MAC Lipstick in 'Angel': £13.50

Angel was my first MAC liptick and as you can see I've used it a lot! This photo doesn't really show the colour but I'm sure you can look it up on MAC's website. It's a beautiful, wearable light pink that is such a go to colour! I love it!

L'Oreal Super Liner: £6.19

I usually use the Carbon Gloss liner but I left it at my friend's house so here's the Super Liner which I also love! L'Oreal liquid liners are definitely my Holy Grail liners, I never buy anything else.

Maybelline Colossal Volum Express Mascara: £6

I am a big lover of full, thick lashes and this is the best mascara I've found for that job! I'm lucky enough to have quite long eyelashes but this helps to make them look full and fluttery! Love this mascara!

Bourjois Blush Pot in Rose Brune: £7.49

This is a lovely blush, it gives a nice wash of rosy pink to the cheeks! I love Bourjois products and their blushes are definitely worth checking out!

MAC Wonder Woman Lipglass in Emancipation: £17.00

I mentioned this lipglass in my MAC Haul post but I just had to include it again here as I've been using it so much! It looks amazing on it's own, has great staying power and a lovely sheen!

Here are some swatches:

So, they are my 11 Most Reached For Products!

My Favourite Lip Combination: Snob and Knightsbridge

Hello everyone!

If you saw my MAC haul a couple of weeks ago you'll know that I purchased 'Snob' lipstick after months of debating over it! Well, it has fast become my most favourite lipstick and I wear it all of the time!

I find it needs a gloss to perk it up a little though and I have found the perfect match in Eyeko's London Lips lipgloss in the shade 'Knightsbridge'. It's a candy, bubblegum pink and it compliments Snob beautifully!

Here they are together:

I'm still fumbling around with my camera so apologies again for the crap quality! And the finger in the lens, I could never make it as a photographer!

Don't know how well you'll be able to see but this is the combination on my lips. I wore them for our girly night out on Friday, which is why I look a bit dazed (damn you, double Vodka and coke!)

So that's what I've been using religiously lately! I'm so glad I bit the bullet and got Snob because I couldn't be without it now!

Hope you are all well!

MAC Haul

Hi everyone!

Sorry for my lack of posts over the past week, I've been busy with university and work and then I had a mad moment when I thought I'd chucked my camera lead out, but thankfully I found it!

I mentioned in an earlier post that I was awaiting a few things from MAC, and to my delight they came just two days later! Well done MAC!

Here's what I got (please excuse the bad quality photos, my camera is very new and I can't work out how to stop it blurring):

First up is Snob lipstick. This has a Satin finish and is described by MAC as a 'ladylike mauve'.
I had always seen this on counters and been drawn to it, but shied away and stuck to my failsafe pinks like 'Angel' and 'Creme Cup'. However I finally picked this up and I am so, so glad I did!

The lipstick is wonderfully creamy and the colour pay off is amazing! I thought it would be hard to wear but it's a gorgeous, wearable colour and looks great both day and night time!

I thought it would be hard to overthrow 'Angel' as my number one MAC lipstick but I think 'Snob' has done it! Absolutely love this!

I also got two eyeshadows in Cork and Shroom.

These are my first MAC eyeshadows and I'm really glad I invested in them. 'Cork' is a satin finish and is described by MAC as a muted golden brown. It needs a little work to get a good colour pay off but it looks amazing on and is so wearable, I've just been using it on a daytime but it would be a great night time smokey eye too!

'Shroom' is also a satin and MAC describes it as a soft muted golden beige with opalescent shimmer. You can really notice the shimmer but in a lovely, subtle way. It is a brilliant highlight for the browbone and tear duct area, I just love it!

Oh dear, this is blurry! Never mind, I'm sure you've all seen pictures of this already!

This is the lipglass in Emancipation from the recent Wonder Woman collection. It's a great size but a big downside is that the brush is hard to pull out of the tube and you end up spattering the product everywhere!

However the colour is just gorgeous, described by MAC as a pale neutral pink, but I think it also has some slight peachy, corally tones. This is beautiful just on its own, and the texture is ever so slightly sticky, but just in the way that you feel it will stay on your lips for a long time, which it does!

So there's what I got from MAC! I'm a very happy bunny with those purchases!

Hope you are all well
